50 Days??

Holy crap! How on earth did we pass 50 days before I noticed that's all we have left?!

Time is going way too fast! Although this wedding still feels like it's light years away. The only reason I know it's close is every time I tell people "June 15th" they go wide eyed and say "ooh it's close!"

I feel like we still have so much to do! Although we now have the following crossed off:

  • Favors
  • Half of our photo booth picture strip design (we're still playing around with it to make it look better)
  • Invitations (mailed out and everything)
  • Hair Trial (just Bridals left before the big day!)
  • Card Box
  • My honeymoon swim suits (Just need to get a cover up)
  • My "wedding scent" (I read an article saying you should have a new one for the wedding so that whenever you wear it afterwards it makes you think of that special day)

The biggest things we still need are:

  • His Suit
  • Ties for all the guys (Hey! That rhymes!)
  • Honeymoon hotel & Flight booked (which should be this weekend if things go well)
  • Music (need to dl all the songs from ITunes and get a playlist going)
  • and then just a few small details
We are also doing a sort of second engagement session next weekend at Thanksgiving Point (aaahhh! it's so pretty there) and so we got our outfits picked out tonight and I have a beauty school doing my hair so we just have to pay the fee for T-Giving Point and we're golden on that :)

I'm also working on re-budgeting some stuff because it's still a little tight, although it'll be nice once I get my car tune up taken care of and I can see how much I'll have on my Visa to use towards the wedding...fingers crossed!

Other than all that all my weekends are booking up pretty fast here so I'll be so happy when we are done with the wedding and I can breath and relax again! I won't lie: several times this week I've told someone (mostly Larry) that if ANYTHING goes wrong and we can't do our wedding for some reason than we're still going to Maui and we'll elope there and just come back to tell friends and family and have a party later. Everyone told me they wished they had done something like that and I'm just now seeing how smart it is, weddings get so overwhelming!

So anyways, here's hoping the next 49 days go smoothly and quickly!

My Running Journey

So let me preface this by saying (and hopefully not repeating) for years and years Larry kept telling me he wanted to get me into running and I kept telling him it was a hopeless cause-I was never going to like running, I was never going to go running, he just needed to give up. Well after many (I would say unsuccessful) attempts outside we decided to try running on the treadmills in our fitness center in our neighborhood. I didn't realize treadmills were SO different from outside running and I became hooked.
When we started running we decided to go 15 minutes and I started at a 4.0 speed and could only run for 5 minutes straight before I had to stop. It sounds really pathetic, but I was happy I ran for 5 minutes straight, it motivated me to keep going and to keep trying harder. It didn't take me long to realize I could go longer and then faster and then longer again.

So to see my progress in November I started at 15 minutes at a 4.0 speed and probably didn't even make it to a mile or burn off 100 calories by the end. Today I saw this at the end:

I started it at 18 minutes at a 5.2 speed, then I raised the speed to 5.5 at the 15/16 minute mark and then the time up to 20 minutes. After a little while I then raised it to 22 minutes. With cool down included I ran 27 minutes, I passed 200 calories and the 2 mile mark. This whole time I've yet to pass those last two milestones! I felt AMAZING! I know it's no marathon, but I'm so glad I didn't die just doing this, I actually ran what felt like a real run! I also felt like I could've done it all over again once I was done with the cool down. I didn't run at all in December and only half of the time in January so I've been able to build this up in, basically, 4 to 4 1/2 months. I'm still not quite down to an 8 min mile, but at this pace it shouldn't take me long to get there :)

Shawn & Amber's Wedding

So today was a fun day! It was Shawn and Amber's wedding day (for those that might not know: Shawn is my brother). It was so nice seeing their wedding, they both looked so happy, you could tell it was a really great day for them :)

When we got there we were a bit early and so we went to visit with Amber while we waited for everyone else to get there and for the ceremony to start. She was so nervous she couldn't sit still, it was so funny, but she also couldn't stop smiling too. She looked gorgeous in her dress, it was so pretty and totally fit her perfectly-she's a cute little prego!

Their ceremony was sweet and their reception had the yummiest ice cream bar! I think I put a little of everything on top of mine ha ha. I'll admit I've been on a strict no sweets/candy diet (really I'm calling it my desperate-to-get-into-shape-two-months-before-my-wedding plan), but I hadn't eaten all day today so I think I deserved a little ice cream fun.

Here are some of the pics I got:

I thought it was so adorable that she was holding her bump!

This was technically the second kiss, but I liked this shot better

I'm so happy for them: Congratulations Shawn and Amber!

I will say it really had me thinking about our wedding, I can't tell if I'm more excited or nervous at this point ha ha, but I've been busting my butt lately on getting everything taken care of. I always saw people get stressed and rushed the last couple months before their wedding and I thought "no way will that be me, I've given myself enough time and I'll be good." Uh, I was wrong, the last couple months it's like there is no avoiding all the stuff you have to take care of, it's actually kind of mean that with wedding stuff you almost have to wait till the last couple months to actually do it, but I'm determined not to get stressed out. We finally got invitations out though, so big thing down once again :) now to work on reception decorations-Shawn and Amber definitely raised that bar ha ha. Less than 60 days to go now!

Guess What We Got..?

OUR INVITATIONS:

I'm so excited to get these put together! It's going to be quite the workload for us, but we haven't had a huge workload really so far (minus maybe our consultation with the reception center) so we'll have fun with it (I'm speaking mostly on behalf of myself, not Larry ha ha).

We're past the 9 week mark and moving straight onto the 8 week mark and it's never been more clear how much we've got to do at this point. I'll say every single weekend from here until the wedding is completely booked for me except for one in the middle of May, which I'm sure will get filled up here quick.

The part I'm still most excited for is booking our honeymoon, I really can't wait for that part, we've decided we'll be spending one night in Vegas, fly from Vegas to Maui (because those flights are so much cheaper than from Utah)-spend a week there, then fly back from Maui to Vegas- spend another night there, then come back home and spend a couple days working on Thank You notes and getting my name changed. So we'll get some fun, party nights and a lot of relaxing, laid back days.

So I apologize in advance if I skip a few posts or days because I'll be jam packed! But I'm getting excited :)

#OBSESSED!

Yeah, that's right, I totally used a hashtag in the title. I'll be clear here though: I don't ever use hashtags, while I sometimes think they are funny and help make a point quicker, I kind of think they are lame.
Anyways, I wanted to apologize; I have been super MIA with the blog and it's because of one reason:

This has become my newest obsession lately! I was randomly surfing Netflix just looking for a show to keep me busy for whenever I got bored (my obsession with Netflix is a whole other topic, one I'm reserving for a later post) and I saw this show. I've heard a lot about it and I remembered reading an article (SPOILER AHEAD: you're warned not to read the rest of this paragraph if you don't want to know) a while back about the girl talking about her character becoming a vampire and I thought why not?

I started watching it and after a few episodes I was thinking it was interesting and entertaining enough, but I didn't feel hooked, it wasn't until I read about what the future episodes brought and I was watching those things unfold that I became addicted. I didn't think I was, but when I started having dreams about the characters and listening to songs and thinking they'd go good with the show, or started thoughts with "ooh on The Vampire Diaries...." I realized it. Then when I realized I watched 66 episodes in about 21 days I knew I couldn't deny it.

My name is Jodi and I am completely obsessed with The Vampire Diaries (among other things).

Thank you Netflix for bringing this show to me, now bring me season 4 so I can be all caught up before the 5th one starts :)

I guess this kind of gives me a good break to catch up on wedding stuff though, now that we're almost down to the 2 month mark I realize how much we still have left to do.
