About Us

The Girl: My name is Jodi. I'm currently working full time at a great company, thinking about learning more about programming and coding. When not working I love reading, watching movies, taking pictures, playing board games, working out and planning vacations! I've become obsessed with Netflix and making to-do lists (no joke). I love documenting when we do anything new, so this blog is all things fun and new for us.

The Guy: His name is Larry. He's my ex-soldier who loves his video games, silly shirts, and computers. He makes me laugh and also seems to love playing board games with me :) He's constantly getting new computer security certifications (see: smarty-pants!) and works his tail off everyday no matter what he's doing.

Miss Cara: We welcomed this little girlie May 2017. so far (2023) she's been such a smarty pants, catching on to all that we've been teaching her. She was promoted to big sister in November and loves tickling her sibling. She loves to laugh, but also whine if she doesn't get her way (terrible twos is definitely starting), but life has been so much better with her in it!

Gwen Harper: This lady entered our world November 2018. She lets you know when she's happy and when she's not and has a voice to conquer any other sound going on. She is such a doll though (especially when she's sleeping and not just because she's quiet). Adding a second girl to our lives has been a fun challenge (in balancing our time and attention), but we couldn't imagine not having her!

Lucy: she is technically "Lucy Amnell" on her birth certificate, but we call her Lucy Lou or LuLu all the time. She's been our most cuddly baby and always loves being held and cuddling. She is a little red head (technically more like a strawberry blond) and a strong personality to match. She loves playing with her sisters and trying to keep up with them when it comes to running around. She also has been a great eater, so much so that she'll eat what everyone else is eating and her own meal haha. While she's been our hardest baby, she's the most adorable toddler!

Pierce: he is our destructor, very serious bubs! He goes by MANY nicknames including Bubbas, Pierce-Man, and Bubba Boy. He absolutely loves going for walks and being the center of attention (but just from us, not from anyone else). You'd never know he smiles, but he does all the time. He isn't cuddly, but doesn't like to be on his own. Finding out he was our first son was the best surprise I have ever gotten!

The Kitties:  Oscar (AKA Oscar Face) is the gray one with attitude, Abby (otherwise refferred to as Baby Girl or "BG" since we now have a cousin named Abby) is the white and black fluffy one, Minnie (AKA Little One) is our orange kitty, and Otto (AKA Little Buddy) is our Siamese crazy (VERY playful) cat. All are completely spoiled and loved!  Abby and Oscar joined our family in 2008, we added Minnie in 2013 (because we both grew up with 3 cats), and Otto joined the craziness in the beginning of 2017. All have been the cheapest, funnest, just overall best entertainment we could ever have!

The girl and her guy important moments:
  • We went on our first date in September of 2004 but weren't "official" until that October
  • We moved into his dad's apartment together in September 2006 (prior to when the blog started)
  • Got engaged on May 22, 2012 (7 years, 7 months, and 7 days from our dating anniversary)
  • Moved into our first home June 2012
  • Got married June 15, 2013
  • Found out we're expecting our first child in September 2016
  • Found out we'll be having our first Baby Girl Christmas 2016
  • Had said girl May 2017
  • Found out about our 2nd baby March 2018
  • Had our next girl November 2018
  • Found out about baby number 3 Oct 2019
  • Had our 3rd girlie June 2020 (in the middle of a pandemic, no less)
  • Found out about our 4th, and last, baby Jul 2021
  • Had our first son April 2022
We love going on vacations (when we're not just staying in to relax), figuring out this parenting thing, and trying new things (even if HE is a little reluctant at first). I try and snag as many pictures as possible, but mostly with my phone so they aren't professional in the slightest. As long as we have the memories and reminders, who cares? Right?

Welcome to our blog!
