March Goals: Check!

So I want to do as quick an update on the March goals I set for my month since it is the end after all. I think I did VERY well! I kept up with the Ab Challenge every day, with the exception of one day that I was feeling extremely ill. I didn't do the workout on Sundays because it says rest, but I still went for a run so aside from the one day I worked out EVERY other day in March...go me!

As always, picture courtesy of Google

Workout proof (still slow, but at least I'm doing it)

It was a pretty good month in other areas too. We decided to try a new place to eat the last Saturday of every month, this month it was Which Which in Lehi. Very yummy, pretty pricey, but VERY filling. We went around 1 and I wasn't "un-full" until 9 (which luckily meant I didn't have to make dinner)!

Larry added everything under the sun to his 14"
I was a wimp and could only do the 7" and even then...
We also had dinner at Marie's where we played the cutest game of Ping Pong with Cailyn. I can't load the video here, but check out my Instagram and you can see it there (yes I accidentally called it Volley Ball...my bad).

I think the only rough part this month was when Larry had to take a few days to go to Chicago for training on his new job. I'm not sure why but I got very emotional about him leaving and had the stupidest time trying to sleep at night (SO glad it was only two nights he was gone and none were on the weekend!). But him, being the sweetest hubby ever, didn't fail to surprise me:

This came the 2nd day he was gone. John Mulaney is by far my favorite comedian and I've talked about wanting this special for forever. If you haven't heard of him just check out this clip and you'll see why he's so awesome (yes that clip is on this DVD). So, yeah, I got the greatest husband ever!

That was about all that happened in March. But I'm still going to end with pictures of my cute kittehs! (So you can stop here if you don't want to see them haha)

Cute girls taking over our bed
After laundry is finally folded

She knows just how to charm him :)

If you made it this far...thank you! Hope you had a great March as well and here's to April!

Just Checkin' In

Hello Blogging world! We're at the halfway point of March (yes there are 31 days, but I'm still counting today as the halfway point) and I definitely can't complain so far :)

I can say I've officially worked out every single day for the first half of the month. It's been a big change and I don't see not continuing the rest of the month. My thoughts are that if I keep it up the rest of the month I'll just be in that "keep working out" mindset and it'll be more difficult to quit (not impossible, but I won't want to quit is the goal) in the next months.

The Six Pack Challenge is kicking my butt, but I'm starting to feel little muscles build up. It's not a six-pack by ANY means, but it's a start, so I'm happy. I also signed us up to do the Dirty Dash in June. I'm really excited about it since I've always seen pictures of others who have done it and always wanted to. In fact last year I said I was going to do the Dirty Dash and/or the Hit and Run 5K this year so I'll be glad to cross it off the list. The best part is my company is going to reimburse $20 of my registration fee (since they are so awesome and are always encouraging us to stay healthy).

I was really surprised when I told people we were doing it and they hadn't ever heard of The Dirty Dash, if you haven't you can go here to see what's so fun about it :)

We have also decided I talked Larry into going camping together sometime in June. With the fun run and wanting to get new pictures taken (yes we're probably going to be one of those couples that takes new pictures each year) it just depends on when we can find a free weekend.

So between all of that and visiting Mom in May we're going to have a busy start to the Summer. And speaking of the start of Summer I swear Spring is starting to bring it's sweet presence to us! I was able to go work out today without bringing my jacket, just my t-shirt and yoga pants. It's so early for Utah and I know a few other states have gotten hit bad with snow so I was really surprised, but I welcome it with VERY open arms!

That's all I've got for this month so far, everything has been really good and here's hoping it continues :)

Reason 1,000,001 my husband rocks!

So this post is going to be totally cheesy and, I'm sure, dumb to the outside world. But I had an "aw my husband is so sweet" moment last night I wanted to share.

Larry made texanos (one of our favorite meals!) earlier this week and we went to go make left overs last night when I noticed we only had enough potatoes and cheese for one. I personally love the potatoes part so I decided to make a deal with Larry that if he let me have the rest of the potatoes I'd let him have the rest of the cheese. He gave me both. He said he didn't need either and would just add different things to his to make his taste good.

I just thought he was the sweetest husband ever for that.

I love this man of mine, I'm a lucky girl :)

March Goals

So for March I found this nifty little thing on Pinterest:

One of my all-the-time goals/resolutions/what have you is to get in better shape. I would say I'm in the worse shape now than I've ever been and I really just need to get a hold on it. I thought if I just started with running on the weekends it would be a good starter, but not doing anything during the week was making it hard to stay motivated. I found this lovely little March Six Pack Challenge thing and thought "I could do that!" Although this one is clearly not 2014, it still works just fine. I already did my day one with the elliptical today so I can check that off. Sundays say rest, but I'll still be running so that I'm doing something. I think doing these during the week will keep me motivated to keep going. Sometimes I get nervous because once I declare a workout plan publicly, like this, I don't always stick with it. Hopefully that's not the case now, we'll see.

I also want to work on keeping with a cleaning schedule at the house and working on staying on top of dishes. For some reason we get so lazy during the week and I want to leave everything for the weekend. Then the weekend comes and I'm thinking "who wants to clean and do chores on their days off?" It's been a challenge.

Easy goals this month, now to keep up with them...

Gluten Free Challenge: Check!

Hey blogging world! We have officially started March which means I, naturally, wanted to post how well we did in February. Minus a few slip ups we did the WHOLE month Gluten Free! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The most annoying part was just checking EVERY nutrition label to make sure it didn't have any wheat products in it. It didn't get to be a challenge for me until the weekend of the 14th, for some reason I was craving anything with pasta or bread. My biggest ones were Subway and Mac N Cheese, but I was able to conquer temptation. I won't say it was worth it though, I didn't lose any weight and I don't feel any healthier for it. Larry says he felt a little different, but he was working out the whole time too. I'm just glad to say we did it, we tried something new and can check it off our list now.

In other news: Larry now works from home Tuesday THROUGH Thursday, so he's a happy camper most of the week :) He definitely loves it, but it makes him really dread Mondays and Fridays. I'm still loving him being at home and we both can't wait till he's here all week. He goes out for training in March (I'm dreading that!) so hopefully after that we'll have a better idea of when he'll be home for good and what exactly he'll be doing.

I'm not saying this IS Larry
But I'm not saying it ISN'T either haha

I'm officially working the earlier shift at my job, so I'm not the last man standing at work anymore. I used to be the only one on my team scheduled for the last hour, but that was because of phones. Now that we're not on phones I get to leave with everyone else. It's been a happy few weeks for us lately!

Tonight we get to have a date night! We get to go see Brian Regan!! If you don't know who that is...well that sucks. Haha just kidding. He's a hilarious comedian, one of my favorites. I'm so excited to see him, he sells out so fast when he comes to Utah, I think he was scheduled to just come out last weekend, but he sold out so quickly that they added tonight's on extra. I wanted to buy tickets for last weekend, but I couldn't find good seats that were together, so once I saw March was added in I immediately got online and bought them!

As for resolutions this year: I've been doing SO great with my reading. I've finished 3 books so far this year! By my math I'll be able to finish our Sword of Truth series by May-ish then I can read all my other books I bought and hopefully have them all done by the end of the year. It's good timing because I recently cleaned out some clutter in our kitchen as saw this:

So I have some serious catching up to do with these! We've also started talking about going out the last Saturday of the month and trying somewhere new to eat. I've been making a list of new places that I've heard from around my office that sound interesting. Hopefully that will create more dates out of the house for us. To be honest, though, some nights I absolutely love just cuddling on our "floof" and watching a move or TV show together!

That's all for now. Next to come: March goals!
