The Saddest Sight

So this happened on Tuesday (well the tow was Wednesday, but the broken down part was Tuesday)...

It was so sad to see my car all hooked up, broken, and knowing there wasn't an easy fix.
On the plus side...

I REALLY like the new repair shop I found and will be taking both our cars in the future :)
(Oh and my car is drivable now!)

Easter Weekend

We had such a fun Easter Weekend this year! Normally we go to my mom's for a ham dinner on Easter Sunday, but since she's gone and most of my family doesn't live in Utah anymore, it made more sense when Larry's mom, Marie, asked us if we wanted to go up to his Uncle Thayne's in Erda for an Easter celebration. The house was beyond gorgeous and they had so much land for all the kids to have fun with! They had sidewalk chalk, bubbles, baby goats, a puppy, some yard toys, and an Easter Egg Hunt all for the kids. The adults just sat around talking and then we BBQ'd some food and ate and talked some more. It's definitely something I'd like to make a new tradition!

It was pretty funny because as we were driving there I saw a bunch of houses with baby goats and thought they were so cute I kept telling Larry I wanted to play with them (but knew I couldn't since who knows who lived in those places). Well we show up to his uncle's and the first thing I see are his baby goats, I was so excited and wasted almost no time going into their area to pet them. They were so soft and made the cutest little "baa" sound. At one point all the little children were away from them and I decided to go in to take pictures, but when I went into their fenced in area I couldn't see them right away so I started calling for them and all of a sudden I see both of them just bounding towards me baa-ing the whole way. It was so freaking adorable!

Cailyn was such a crack up during the egg hunt, she just wanted to open each egg as she found them. She didn't care to get a lot of eggs, but luckily she had a grandma and aunt there to help her get more. Once they were done she just cracked them all open, more interested in the candy than the toys, but it was still really funny. She also found, what I'm calling, a kissing cousin. She kept playing with this one boy and he seemed pretty obsessed with making sure she played with him too, it was really cute. And then, after we all ate, she got to play some b-ball with her daddy and uncle, I think she liked that a lot.

It was such a nice day out, it was nice to feel and smell the warmth and sit outside to enjoy it. I even made a joke that I was excited to wear capris and a tank top with no jacket (though I did bring one for when it got chilly, I just didn't wear it most of the time). I think the heat took it out of Larry though; We had plans to go see a movie afterwards and when we got home to get one of our gift cards he just passed out on the floof for a bit before we had to leave. The movie ended up being a bust, but the rest of the day was so fun and nice and I loved every minute of it.

Today has been really nice too, I decided it's summer dress weather today:

Ignore the no makeup and the fact that it's
A bathroom selfie,
I was just excited to be able to wear
A Summer dress so early!
As far as my workouts, I've only missed like 3 days this month (two were just for no reason, I just felt blah, and the third was because of that movie event from my work-a worthy reason I think!). But I've been killing it when I do workout to help makeup for those days. I'm starting to see little differences, they are small, but at least it's something. For us April has been a great month, no reason to complain so far. I hope those of you who have warm weather are enjoying it and those who don't get it soon!

"Hoppy" Easter Everyone!! :)

Home Decorating (Number 7)

Lately it's been my goal to get our home cleaned out (I think the warm weather is just so motivating). So each Sunday for the past month I've been concentrating on one room at a time and making sure they are clean and smell nice and everything. Well today was the dreaded guest room, it's more a storage room than a guest room and I wish I had taken before and after pictures of it so you can see why it was so dreaded (it was a definite "catch all" room). While going through the clutter I saw all the things I've been meaning to hang (pretty much since we moved in) and thought to hell with it, why not start hanging them up now? So I did. A lot of the frames need to be filled still and I'm still working on where to put everything exactly, but I got our home all cutesy today:

These are all from our wedding.
I know it's a ton on one shelf thing,
I'll be moving them around as we get
More things set up

I know this one is crooked, I'll fix it later

These are in our hallway, they aren't that crooked
I just didn't have enough space to take a good enough picture

This one still needs to be hung, but that's where I'm
Having Larry put it :)
Last weekend I finally got around to painting and building our birdhouse and we put that up along with the wind chimes my grandma got us for our wedding.

A couple days after we put the birdhouse up our first bird showed up on our porch:

And now Oscar has been watching like a hawk (no pun intended) waiting for other birds to show up:

Also, today I got the planter basket Larry got me for Christmas put together and hung up so now our porch looks pretty dressed up (sorry you can't see it really well, I had to go downstairs to really get a good picture):

I also put up our Easter decorations on the shelves in the living room:

The three little figurines on the top shelf are from Larry's Grandma
She always has these solar powered toys and I always tell her how
Much I love them, she surprised us one night with a bag of a bunch of
Them saying we could take whichever we wanted. She's so sweet!

Overall, I'm really excited about how everything is turning out. I know phone pictures don't exactly do it the best justice, but I got two big things checked off the list for today: Cleaning the cluttered room AND getting things hung up/decorating the house. Hooray!

Motivational #6

I like this one.

I workout, I work my butt off, I make sure I sweat and then keep going. I may not be the fastest, skinniest, or the one panting the least, but I'm glad I don't just sit on the couch complaining that I don't do anything anymore. Anytime I want to quit I always think of this quote.

Free Nights Out

So have I mentioned before how cool my company is? Well I'm about to do it again! I work for the best company, literally. We've been named the best company to work for recently, and it ain't no lie.

Let me get to why it's so awesome this time. This past Thursday they rented out two theaters and took us to see Captain America 2. I made sure to have Netflix deliver the first one the week before so that we would have a refresher on what's to come (I had seen the first one already out in Indiana, but Larry hadn't and since it had been a few months for me I figured why not?). The second one is much better than the first in my opinion, although there are some awkward and predictable moments, it was still very well done.

They also gave us free popcorn, drinks, and a "goodie cup" filled with candy, plus our CEO dressed up AS Captain America...just 'cause he's cool like that :) I posted this last year at the Iron Man 3 event (yup, they took us to that as well):

So you can image that, only the whole Captain America suit haha. It was a fun free night out for us.

And just to end on a silly note, Tuesday night I was waiting for Larry to get home from class and I guess this little missy just couldn't stay up any longer:

These are all at the same moment, but I thought it was funny how her head was just buried in the blanket on me. And she was completely out! But you can't really blame her when you see how comfy our "floof" is with that blanket, even Larry can't avoid it:

So that's been our past few days, now to get on with the rest of the weekend :) Got lots to do this one.

April Goals

Well another month has gone so that means a new month is upon us, and with it new goals. I'm going to keep up with the working out and made a new schedule for April (similar to the March Ab Challenge one):

I decided that since our Dirty Dash is in a couple months that I should try and get used to running outside. Obvious confession here: I'd MUCH rather run on the treadmill, where my speed is controlled and there's no hills or inclines unless I add them, outside running is one of my weaknesses. Luckily we've got just a small half a mile around part of our neighborhood that I'll start with. Once I get used to that then the whole neighborhood is like .8 of a mile so I can do that until I feel up to running to the Maverick and back with Larry, a whole 1.5 miles up the road (something I haven't been able to do because it's an incline the whole way up there).

So that's goal one.

As far as other goals I think I'm going to be working on more craft-y like things. Larry bought me this build-your-own birdhouse kit a couple Christmases ago and he's been mentioning doing it a lot lately. I've been hesitant because I know once we paint it it's pretty much permanent, he just wants to see birds come closer to the house so that the cats will go nuts, haha. I also have these things:

Yes I'm dead serious I have them
I've been wanting to get them done, just for keepsakes of the kitties, but I haven't started them yet. This is all on top of about 3 or 4 Wood Connection crafts I've only partially finished, not sure why they are taking me so long to finish.

My biggest one I'd love to get done is this Pinterest Idea:

Date Night in a Jar
Color coded by pricing

I've gotten all the supplies for this, I even have the colors picked out and a whole bunch of different dates written down. Just need to get to putting it together and using it (this would help accomplish one of my "New Years To-Do" of having more date nights together).

Other than all that I'm still working on reading and getting our Sword of Truth books finished, then I can move onto the dozens of free Kindle books I downloaded forever ago! I have to say just making sure I read two chapters a night (at the very least) makes me go much faster, plus I look forward to it each day!

That's my April for now, hopefully I can get these things crossed off my list :)
