So I figured since I'm just sitting in bed this weekend recuperating I would do a bit of a catch up for this month. The year has continued to treat us well, at least I think so. Larry is in his final semester of college (unless he decides to take one last class to get his LINUX certification, which would be great for him so he'll probably end up doing that), he's taking Philosophy and Psychology right now so I finally understand what he's talking about when he does his homework, ha ha. And speaking of Psychology I should be able to start my next classes in May, and then I only have 3 more semesters of classes and I should have my associates by May of 2013, so I'm excited to approach that end as well.
I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and I have to say the pain isn't NEARLY as bad as I feared it might be. Actually except for the bleeding and swelling I feel completely fine. Oh and I can't open my mouth too wide so I'm still on the soft foods and water diet, but I LOVE having a carefree weekend of bed rest, constant movie watching, and hanging out with Larry and the cats, it's peaceful to say the least. We also FINALLY got our Bahama's cruise dates set, we'll be on the cruise February 23-25, not a long one, but since it's free I'll take what I can get. It'll be our first out of states trip together, something neither of us has done (finding a fun thing to do that Larry and I both haven't done is somewhat of a trick for me). We plan on leaving Utah the 22nd and coming back the 28th, then we'll do Universal Studios while we're in Florida since I've never been there and it seems like a fun place to go. Getting a few more vacations crossed off our list. I can't wait already.
I've put my job hunt on hold until we get back from the cruise, I figure it'd just be easier to not start and then take a week off right at the beginning, less stressful for everyone. Larry still has until at least September in his job, we're not sure what happens after that, whether he'll still be in the same company or if they'll eliminate his department all together and he'll have to find a new job, but he's sticking it out till the end so that he can get a nice severance package.
Right now things are great, it really feels like we should be in June, what with the sunny weather and all the things we've managed to get scheduled and accomplished so far, it's kind of nice. Hopefully this is a good omen for the rest of the year :)
Hope everyone out there is having a good year as well.

Number 24 (Where we get our Passports)
Boom Baby! We can now travel across borders :) I'm so excited! I love traveling, I love going to different places, so I'm happy that we now have the opportunity to go wherever we want, money permitting. Now to get that cruise booked...

Spring Cleaning! It can be done anytime
So I just spent this whole past weekend (I got a four day one FINALLY!) on cleaning out all our junk and de-cluttering. I love Spring Clean time, makes me feel so good about everything. I hate the thought of holding on to something just because I couldn't get rid of it, even though I have no use for it. Normally I'll say "I'll find a use for it...eventually," but I really never do, so this time I was prepared for that inner argument and eventually got rid of the stuff I didn't need.
Behold:
This plus two more vacuums (yes there is already one in the picture) is our DI pile (not including the dryer in the back), you should've seen our "garbage" pile, which was probably twice this size. It feels SO good to get rid of it all! I'll probably be making multiple trips throughout the week to get it all out of the house, but it'll be worth it. I was also able to reorganize our storage area so that things that we frequently get into are towards the front of the pile and cleaned out all the dust and debris from underneath. This is part of making my year a great year just like last one. We also have our new bed settled:
We have red and blue sheets ( thanks to Stace :] ) that I can switch back and forth. We love it, we got to spend all day Saturday just lying in bed and watching movies, taking naps, and enjoying a lazy day together.
We also got our passport applications turned in and should be seeing those by the end of the month and I have scheduled my wisdom teeth removal for the 27th. I'm getting so much done it feels like the year should be half over since I'm usually such a procrastinator. This year is going to be great. We're in the middle of planning our Cruise Larry won last year, so hopefully we can do that next month. I would love to have a post on the Bahamas soon :)
So until something new happens...

New Years pics
Since New Year's Eve technically began midnight on Saturday, I actually began it with my dad and his side of the family, they stopped by here on their way to drop my sister (their oldest), Ariel, at BYU-Idaho, so we went over, did our Christmas, went to dinner, and played cards till a little past midnight, it was awesome! Then we spent the night at mom's playing cards, eat, and drink a little. It was a fun night :)
Here are some pics:
That was the morning, then these are from that night:
We definitely had fun ringing in the new year, and bonus! we got to talk to my brother at midnight, it was so nice hearing from him! LOVE new beginnings and spending time with family. I'm glad Larry goes with me :)
Here are some pics:
Ariel and Makenzie playing the piano and singing |
Playing "Mormon Bridge" which is nothing like Bridge |
The guys were talking about shooting people, so Becky built a card house. It was SWEET! |
Ariel actually slept like this, I couldn't believe it! |
Everyone watching "Bridesmaids" |
The animals didn't make it to Midnight |
Yeah, none of them made it. |
Playing Hands N Feet, such a FUN game! |
New Post for the New Year!
Wow, what a crazy year so far! I've been meaning to put our New Year's post for the longest time, but I've been pretty busy so far this year. I have to say I ended 2011 with no regrets. Every other year I've made resolutions and hardly ever do anything about them and so by the end of the year I feel I didn't really achieve much. However, last year I feel I did a great job making things work for me, so needless to say I'm going with the same plan for 2012. So here goes the resolutions/goals for 2012:
- Get my wisdom teeth out
- Hopefully, get Lasik this year (this really depends on how much the wisdom teeth ends up costing me)
- Take our Bahamas cruise
- Get passports (for the cruise)
- Get into a medical coding job
- I'm back to learning a new language (I'm thinking Italian, but we'll see)
- I'm also back to getting into a workout routine and eating healthier
