First Day in Florida

Day one was a good day. I mean leaving for the airport at 10 P.M. and flying at midnight might not sound ideal, but it definitely has it's advantages: for one, no one flies at midnight so getting through security is a cinch! For another, they make sleeping on a plane pretty easy these days (with the dark lights and free blankets)-I sure couldn't complain. Of course, taking the sleeping pill an hour before we left sure didn't hurt anything either ;)

We had a two hour layover in Atlanta, where I learned even little airport store cashiers will try and sell you anything! I think I'm going to try and avoid that airport/city/state at all costs from now on-I'm not a big fan. But it was worth it, a little, once we landed in Florida with it's sunshine and cool breezes...Ah! I don't think it could've looked any prettier-that could be due to the fact that it was snowing in Utah when we left, but I won't split those hairs.

We decided our new tradition must be to travel overnight, then once we check into our hotel Larry falls asleep, it's odd, but it's what always ends up happening to us. I stayed up to clean and organize our bags a little while watching movies on the hotel T.V. I decided since we had so much time to kill (and we'd eaten greasy pizza for our lunch/dinner) that we could take a walk once Larry woke up. So we started out in a general direction, not knowing what to look for, but we ended up finding out the beach was real close so we thought it would be fun to head over there and see the ocean up close. We got to a suspiscious looking neighborhood we had to cross through, but found out the people in it were actually pretty funny/nice (you can't help but laugh when you see some guy in swim trunks and a hoodie yell from his roof "Hey you guys! Want to come in for some free jaeger bombs?" who also took rejection pretty nicely and made us laugh some more). We made our way to a marina of sorts, right as the sun was setting, so we took a couple pictures, stood there admiring the beauty for a minute and headed back. We found out towards the end it was about a 4.5-5 mile walk (round trip) and it felt so good to be in the warm sun, cool breezes, and fresh air. I would've done it all over again if we had stayed here longer, but we left for our cruise the next morning.

All in all it was a very successful first day! Some pictures from this day:

My first view of the Atlantic Ocean!

The view from our hotel room,
Looked just like the movies :)

The sunset at the end of our walk.
So beautiful!

Pre-Vacation posts post (Number 26)

Well, we survived, we made it, we got through another vacation, just Larry and me. Some parts were a bit stressful, but it was mostly super fun and beautiful. I wish we could've stayed a little longer, especially in the Bahamas part :)

Just like with the California trip I'll be posting a post for each day and what we did, along with pictures. I already miss the sunshine, I thought I'd like being in a little chillier weather after all the heat, but I don't. I really love the idea of 80 degree winters...Larry is a different story.

I'm kind of happy to get back to normal life again, but at the same time I could live in a perma-vacation mode the rest of my life so we'll see how easy it is to adjust. Luckily, I have another day off from work to clean, catch up on sleep, readjust to the time difference, etc. etc. So until I can post the vacation posts...Hope everyone had a good week out there!

Valentine's Day

So normally I'm not big on Valentine's Day, it's just not been one of my favorites, especially when trying to find a good gift for a guy-it's more a girl holiday than anything. But Larry sure made this year awesome! On Monday, before V-Day I was surprised at work with a beautiful bouquet:

It's a lot more "bloomed" now, but I LOVE tulips, and I have been telling Larry for a few weeks now how pretty I think they are, but he normally gets me roses, so I was REALLY surprised I got these instead. They are so gorgeous!

Then Tuesday (actual V-Day) I got to work with another box waiting for me. I found the best gift I could get for the day:

I absolutely LOVE chocolate covered strawberries, unlike other people I haven't had them my whole life. I only started eating them over the past couple of years and I have fallen for them! The white ones are the best. I was so happy.

That night I came home and Larry surprised me with dinner and dessert that he made. He's such a great boyfriend! He's so good with surprises :)

I also made another decoration for the day of love:

I had a vision of how I wanted it to look and this was EXACTLY it. The dark red, lined with black and then some black letters. I'm so happy with this and now I want to go get more to paint and put around the house! They are so much fun to do.

Hope everyone else felt as special as I did for their day!

New Project!

So recently I was asked to be a Maid of Honor for my...I guess it'd be soon to be almost sister-in-law. Cailyn's parents (AKA Larry's brother and his now fiance) are now engaged and will be getting married in August, I'm so excited for them! Jena asked me to be her maid of honor for the big day, so we have 6 months to plan a spectacular wedding for them! Needless to say I will be quite busy over the next little while and may not get to blogging like I'd like, but we'll see what comes up between now and then.

Also, since Valentine's Day is Tuesday I really had to go get a new wood project to do for the home and...

TA DA!

I dreamed of doing it in these colors so it was perfect that the place had the right red to use! The red letters are lined with the black and I was supposed to put scrapbook paper over the smaller heart, but loved it so much like that I decided to keep it this way. I'm falling in love with doing these wood projects, The Wood Connection is an amazing store, I LOVE IT. Plus I don't have to take this down right after V-Day too. I'll definitely be doing more for Easter and Summertime :)

So those are my current projects right now, hopefully I'll have a little time to post every now and again. Till next time...
