Earth Day 2020

This year Earth Day means SO much more to me. I want to do what I can to promote more green friendly ideas and replacements. I know going full green sounds hard, but I believe there's always options that will work for most everyone. This year I'd like to focus on balloons and how bad they (specifically balloon releases everyone loves to do) really are for this planet so I offer the following:

Per the wildlife center (wildlifecenter.org):

Alternatives per encenter.org:

So please, next time you think of having balloons, just remember the poor animals that are hurting because of these. See you next year for more tips and tricks!

Happy Easter 2020

So even though quarantine started not too long ago, we're still taking advantage of the holidays and making the most of things. This year I had fun buying gifts ahead of time I also bought the egg coloring kits and eggs ahead of time so I was well prepared this year.

Speaking of egg coloring kits, we had so much fun coloring eggs for the first time. Cara was doing her best to be so careful putting the eggs into each cup. Gwen we just let watch it, I don't think she has the finger dexterity to be that careful.

Hiding the eggs and doing the hunt in the morning was definitely my favorite part. The girls, of course, were just so excited to see their gifts on the counter and couldn't wait to play with them.

Our ham dinner sure didn't disappoint either. Overall, it was an easy, laid-back holiday. I did more than I usually do so it was a win, but I sure can't wait for next year (when I can stop saying that phrase! haha)

Outtakes from egg coloring - haha

7 Months (weeks 28 - 31)

Forgot to take a 31 week shot this time

Compare/Contrast: Taking the Glucose test was a bit more difficult this time. I have never had a real problem with waiting to eat in my previous pregnancies, but this time I woke up so hungry I felt nauseous. I made sure to bring a Perfect Bar to snack on as soon as my blood was taken.

Best Moments This Month: This is a weird thing to say was the "best thing", but COVID-19 hit and it was nice because I got to work from home. It was nice to dress more relaxed and spend more time with Larry and the girls. It was a weird month,  but still a good one.

I passed my Glucose test - which was nice to say. I've never failed it, but still nice to say I passed.

What I'm Looking Forward To: I get another ultrasound at my next appointment to check the placenta placement, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much bigger she is. I also think next month we'll get all the new baby stuff we need (memory book, eating log, new bottles, etc.) so it'll be nice to be in the home stretch.

I'm also looking forward to this virus craze going away...not because I want to go to work, but I really want to have a good summer postpartum time this time around (being stuck inside during my maternity leave with Gwen was REALLY difficult...I'd rather not repeat that)

Keeping Sane in Quarantine

We aren't even a month into quarantined life and let me tell ya...filling in free time has been more difficult than I realized it would be.

I started relying on watching reality tv to keep me pre-occupied while I'm working from home. I actually started watching that Love is Blind show on Netflix. It's so ridiculous, but sure helps me disconnect from our reality and just get lost into these awful problems those people have haha. I saw Married at First Sight season 9 is on Netflix as well so I think I'll end up watching that next.

Taking walks to pass the time

Baking treats...no better excuse

Finding ways to keep kids busy has been more difficult. I've found myself constantly thinking "we'll go here this weekend" and then realize Oh "here" isn't open right now. I didn't realize how much we relied on other businesses to keep busy. Costco trips have become our big weekend excitement (even though the long lines aren't the most fun, it's really the only store we can go to). We have had some days of making forts and the girls have been loving those. I began looking up some fun activities we could do at home. I've been looking for ideas like this for a looong time (basically ever since Cara was about 1 and stuck at home with Larry working), so I'm kind of glad this whole quarantine thing has made people put ideas out there.

Get into Costco

How weird our world is these days!

Extra treats while watching movies at night

We've been going for more walks and baking more these days. We found out snicker doodles are actually really easy and quick to make. The good news is since this happened when the weather was starting to warm up we can at least be outside a lot more of the time and so it's been really nice. Could've been worse timing. I've loved playing in the back yard with the girls and letting them draw with sidewalk chalk on the driveway.

Building forts out of anything!

The only draw back is being SO pregnant makes it hard to do too much activity. I'm hoping after this little girlie is born we'll definitely be able to be outside a lot more and I'll be able to be more active with the girls.

Going anywhere and everywhere
For activity ideas!

So anyways, this has been an interesting few weeks. I thought we'd be going back to normal by now so now I'm just curious to see how much longer this lasts.. Wish us luck we don't go insane.
