February Activities

This month didn't have a lot going on. Almost everything we did was bigger so they got their own posts. The rest of it was just kind of smaller stuff:

-Gwen got to have a 2nd field trip to Bean Museum (on the 2nd, funnily enough). She liked it and had fun and remembered her Grandma took her before. She asked why I didn't chaperone that one, but I told her I only plan to do one each year so I'd let a different parent do it this time.

-We had Parent-Teacher Conferences with our favorite, the book fair on the 5th. We didn't have to do one for Gwen since she her teacher sent home a report saying she's doing great and a mid year conference wasn't needed. Cara we did so I could ask the teacher a couple questions. We found out she is still testing off the charts for her class (super high in math even though she says that's her least favorite haha). Lucy is doing good, but needs help with some minor things (mostly just staying focused). We went to the book fair at both schools and I ended up spending the same amount at both haha. It's just too hard to limit how many books we get (I also always get teacher books or donations). I love conferences with book fairs!

-I scheduled my scar revision for the 10th so it's nice to have that done. However, I realized I didn't think this through (with how close it was to our trip). The "surgery" itself was done fairly quickly, but I didn't realize how much it would hurt to have things touch it or when I needed to stretch a little. I was worried about the flight (which the surgeon told me wouldn't be an issue, so that was nice), but then realized the rides at Universal Studios might cause issues if the safety bar went across the torso area (luckily they didn't, but it still wasn't comfortable). It took a while to be able to stretch and couldn't do my running or core workouts for a while.

The swelling after the revision was INSANE!

-Larry and I had our first couple's massage on the 21st. I gave him a gift card to the salon as a Christmas present, so after January he started asking me when I was going to schedule it. I checked with my mom for what weekend would work (since she'd be watching the kids) and she said she was pretty open. I figured the weekend after our vacation would be nice for him as a relaxer. I am hesitant on massages as I prefer facials to them, but this one wasn't bad. Figuring out the whole robe changing thing was new for me. I also accidentally wore my jewelry and socks to it so the lady had to keep helping me remove things (while trying to keep it peaceful). It ended up being a really good massage and I might be open to doing more now.

-Favorite pics of the kids (there are lots this month):
