2024 - How'd We Do?

I really love to review the goals I set for the year to see how I did:

-Family Vacations: Definitely a big check for the year! We did Disneyland, and we had SO much fun with it! I thought I could wait 5 more years before going again, but mom and I are joking about going in another year because it's too much fun seeing the kids excitement! We also kind of did Phoenix (though that wasn't as much fun as any regular vacation) and we did St. George that was a tiny bit of fun, but nothing as big as Disney (or close to it)

-My surgery: So I got my belly correction surgery scheduled, but it hasn't happened yet, but it's the first thing happening next year (just timing wise that's what was the best for us), so I'm very excited for that.

-Larry finishing his Masters and his graduation day: Definitely check! He finished in February and we went down to Phoenix in March to celebrate him. I'm so proud of his hard work!

-Staying productively busy: This we did pretty good on. I still find we resort to TV more than I'd like and I have a HORRIBLE addiction to social media when I should be with my kids, BUT we did set some Summer goals that got accomplished, we did do swimming lessons, we did do ALL the workshops we could (even one that was down in St. George while we were there) and did Gymnastics and Ballet so those were good, but there's always room for improvement.

-Less social media time around the kids: I did my best to catch myself with this and stop it, but I still did it and don't like it. I think that's going onto next year's list, but with more incentives to stop it.

-Stop the cussing: Um...I stopped doing it around the kids, but I definitely still do it (eesh). I've made a decision that if it's happy cussing it's not bad, it's just angry/mad cussing that's bad haha.

-Saving and spending goals: I think I'm pretty good at this one. Next year we've moved around our finances and savings next year is going to be really fun!

-Purging! UGH! This is ALWAYS on the list, it's never ending to get things cleaned and organized! I didn't even do the recipe cards part (though I did get a holder for recipe cards and I cleared out the recipes we don't really like so I can actually put the ones we do on the cards, just hasn't happened). Although I did figure out a good cleaning system that works for our house so we're not cleaning ALL weekend once a month. Usually, every Sunday we clean, but we only do one floor so that one is super clean. It doesn't mean the whole house is clean all the time, but in between cleanings it doesn't get too messy so it has worked out pretty well. But I don't think I'll ever say my house is clean all the time haha.

-Bath nights, One Wednesday a month. I did do this most of the year. It didn't happen as much as I'd like (and has tapered off the last couple months), but it is part of my monthly routine now and I do still look forward to doing them. I feel I accomplished this because it's not hard to plan into the schedule.

-Game/Date night Wednesdays. We did NOT do this one, this is probably my big failure. I should add it to the list for next year.

-Get inside home projects done in the winter and outside home projects done in the summer! We did do about 1/3 of this, but could've done better. We do have some good ones for next year planned.

-Reading tracking! I did this and am proud that I read 20 books. Not a lot for some people, but it was so fun to see how much I could cross off! And I found some good books and some new authors I really like!
