One thing I've always wanted to do was take our kids to Disney on Ice and I knew this year would be a great year to add it to. So, when I bought tickets it was SO hard to keep it to myself until it got closer (I'm trying not to spoil the surprises we have this year, PLUS if we tell them about things too far ahead they just spend the whole time asking if it's coming. As well as, I don't need to overwhelm them with EVERYTHING I have planned for us).
We started out the morning with a breakfast buffet at Golden Corral (we thought it would be free, but we had the wrong location...oh well, it was still really yummy) and, honestly, it made it feel like we were at Disneyland again with a buffet before Disney stuff. We made sure to fill up as much as possible, too.
After that, we drove up to the Delta Center because I totally spaced how parking is there (I was thinking the Maverick Center) so we got to the parking garage and then had to hustle as quickly as we could to the venue. Then I ended up having trouble getting the tickets (I miss printed ones). And THEN we had to run around the whole building (almost twice because we went one way and then it was closed that way and we had to go back the way we came from and then around the other way. I was stressing a bit at that point).
The good news is all that rush and stress dissipated when we got to our seats, I didn't realize I got seats so close - Row 5, where we could see EVERYTHING, plus we got there while the intro was still going so we weren't too late (maybe 1-2 minutes).
We saw so many good performances! I loved the aerials and the spins. Lucy got scared when Jafar came out in the second performance and wanted to hold onto me the whole rest of the time, haha. The lady in Encanto fell on both of her jumps (sad), but still did amazing, especially with picking herself back up and getting back to it.
When we got to the intermission, Lucy said she wanted to try and go potty (which usually means she needs to go), so we headed up that way with anyone else who wanted/needed to go. The lines were SO long, I was kind of tempted to go into the men's bathroom since it was closer to our section and had way less of a line (honestly, they should've made some of the men's bathrooms women's since I'm sure the ratio was WAY off). By the time we got to the toilet she tried, but said "nothing came out" *eyeroll* so we headed back to our seats haha.

These jumps were pretty cool! |
The kids really loved waving to the characters. I was happy they even had some characters for the boys. The theme this time was Encanto and Frozen so I did worry a little that Pierce wouldn't love it as much, but they had Aladdin, Cars, Buzz Lightyear, and a few others. They even had some Fireworks (which got his attention). By the end the girls said they loved it. Pierce said he didn't think anything was cool, but I know he liked it, haha.
Once we got to the end of the performance, I was expecting leaving to be crazy, but the walk to the car was actually pretty easy and smooth. Getting out of the parking garage took WAY too long (I was tempted to get out to see what the hold up was, we just sat there for like 15-20 minutes without moving). The whole thing must have wiped Pierce out, he slept on our long way home and then for an additional 2-3 hours after we got home. So, needless to say, we just relaxed the rest of the day - perfect ending!
Overall, we loved going and I would totally do it again, mostly based on what the main performances are. We talked about how a Zombies and Descendants one would be amazing and I'd sign us up immediately (so fingers crossed that happens)!
