For Father's Day this year, I really tried to make it fun for Larry. He had mentioned going to Malad, but then I mentioned we were going to my mom's for dinner so I wasn't sure we'd have time. I think he was a little bummed about that.
However, for his day, I did my best to make sure he didn't have to lift a finger too much. I let him sleep in until he wanted to wake up (which is a pretty rare occurrence these days), I took the kids grocery shopping all by myself. I took them ALL with me to swimming lessons (which is NOT easy with Pierce when he can't go swimming, but he really wants to. Or when I have to clean the girls off and keep an eye on him, but we made it work).
In the afternoon, we headed to Mom's for a BBQ and Will ended up having some fun targets set up for the kids to practice shooting. Cara LOVED doing that and kept grabbing the guns to shoot. Gwen also had some fun with it, but she would do other things every once in a while. Lucy tried, but then stopped. Pierce was way too nervous when he heard the first shot go off.

For Will's gifts it was pretty funny because a couple months ago I mentioned what I wanted to get him to Andy and he said that he wanted to go half on it and sent me a Venmo for it. Well then we show up to the house and Andy pulls up and I noticed he's holding some books. I asked what they were and he said it was Will's gifts. So I mentioned he already sent me money for the gift I brought and he completely forgot! So I we all had a good laugh at that. Will liked all of them, though.
For Larry, he said he's sick of owning stuff and would rather have back rub coupons or spa massage gift cards. So I decided to make him some like how I make the kids' Christmas coupons. He was happy I listened to him, but I think he'd rather have a gift card so I'll remember that for Christmas (since I already know what I want to get him for his birthday and so he'll just have to deal with that stuff haha).
Anyways, happy father's day to all the playful, involved, and supportive dad's out there! It may not seem as important to be there for your kids, but it means more to them than you realize!
