Halloween during a pandemic

Halloween has been so GREAT this year!! I've been doing a little Halloween/Fall prep since September so I've been on it this year!

Earlier this month we hit up a orchard where you can pick your own fruits with Tori and Lilly and had a fun girls day. I left Lucy behind with Larry to make it a little easier. We got some decent apples that the girls were excited to pick and got some really good pumpkins to carve and for a really good price.

We also went costume shopping and got some cute costumes this year (Cara will be a panda bear, Gwen will be a doggie, Lucy is wearing the bumble bee one from Cara's first Halloween and Larry got us Pikachu and Ash from Pokemon costumes).

Mom came to visit and we went to Gardner Village for a fun fall visit and we got some good Halloween themed books to read to the girls.

Room on the Broom is a favorite with the girls

But this one was their ALL time favorite!

We got a Halloween cookie decorating kit for some treats.

We actually decorated our house! Not as much as I'd like, but we used almost everything we own so that's a great start! We carved pumpkins (and attempted to paint one), always a favorite tradition of mine.

Dropped the tape while decorating...used the
Toddler to help grab it haha

And, of course, we went out trick-or-treating. Was it easy? No, there were quite a few houses that didn't want to hand out candy, but the girls at least got to go for their first time and had a great time. Oddly enough, they really liked handing out candy so they only hit up a chunk of houses before rushing home and got so excited to hand out candy to each kid that came to our house.

I even went out to Wal Mart and found some really cute items to get for next year (lots of door decorations that were cheaper than $1 and some fun little extras). Overall it's been the best Halloween since having kids so I'm calling it a win. Hopefully this is a great starting point for how Halloween's will be from here on out!
