I'm not sure I could've planned a better Mother's Day than the one I had this year.
Friday before the weekend, I spent at Vintage Market Days with Mom and Rachel. There weren't as many booths that we like seeing as usual, but that did mean we got done quickly. The weather was really nice and I still found some cute stuff (a cute hanging planter/Disney sign for their play house, some new lemonade concentrate made with natural flavors that ended up being really yummy and I wish I had bought more, and the usual bath bombs I get the kids). For lunch I got a sandwich from the bbq food truck, which was new for me (we usually end up going to the very first truck that's a sandwich one and then wishing we had looked around just because there are SO many options and we really shouldn't just land on the first we see), I also got macarons as a dessert. super fun day!
Another amazing part was my Mom said she wanted to take me to her hair lady for my gift. I normally just go to a hair school when I need something done (you may laugh, but the always do amazing work AND it's budget friendly), but I humored her and told her I'd have the 10th free.
When I got there I realized I didn't have any plans for my hair, I don't ever do it much, maybe just before doing family pictures, so I told her just to trim it. She ended up chopping off more than I expected, but honestly, it feels much more healthy now. But the best part was the head massage she gave at the beginning! O.M.G. I told mom I'd got back every single year for that massage and just a nice trim up. It was SO amazing!!
Today was even better. I got to sleep in (which I normally get to do on Sundays, but I still like it. Normally I ask for a special breakfast, but this time I opted for just a normal Sunday breakfast. After we got ready, we had swimming lessons. I decided to come just because I haven't missed a single lesson, but I brought my book and made Larry come and he did the lessons part, while I went to the private table area and read my book. The girls had an Easter makeup that I scheduled this day so they really had an hours worth of lessons, rather than just 30 minutes (so I got some good reading in!). The hour ended up being great, they all leveled up during the lessons today.
Lunch was going to be at Gourmandise (so I could get my cannoli I wanted), but they were BUSY so I decided we should just do lunch at home real quick (which ended up being good so I could switch laundry. If you're asking why the heck I'd do laundry on Mother's Day, it's because I genuinely enjoy doing laundry because at night I fold it all while watching a movie and doing a mask...it's a favorite routine of mine).
After lunch I had made an appointment for me and the girls to get our nails done, so we headed to Luxury Nails in EM for cute manis while Larry took Pierce and did the grocery shopping. Once that was all done we headed home to relax, and then out to Golden Corral for dinner - YUM!! That's one of my favorite places and I was so excited to pig out a bit (especially after having home breakfast and lunch today).
As for gifts (which I don't ask for), I got a new mask and some treats plus my "all about mom" sheets I love getting (and do request each year). The girls also made a card for me and Pierce was mostly being sweet...mostly haha
